    Davey,
Thanks so much for the walkthrough; One quick question: I have the back off my slate, but I don't know which chord unplugs the battery. Could you point me in the right direction? :)
    Thanks again!

Thank You very much. This morning, before coffee, I accidentally started to put a mini HDMI plug into the USB port and
"poof" no screen, no lit leds. I thought my Slate was history. Then, I found your post, and am happy to report that it worked.

I might add that I found I could easily pry the cover off by starting inside the pen compartment and using a small flat-head screwdriver.
There is a nice gap at the edge where the case meets the screen.

This worked great i had just spent 400 on Rma a few months ago for something else, and when i plugged in the hdmi into the usb i freaked! Im so glad this website is here or else might be forking out more cash.

Also just want to add. it is ineed the Red, yellow, green and black cable pictured in top left of quoted image. You have to apply a little pressure "push down" and pull it all the way out, i was a bit afraid to do this but it worked out great had to run to the store to buy paper clips though.
