Do you permanently have one of those extensions plugged in?

If the hole between USB is reset..What would be the hole below volume button?

<<...Do you permanently have one of those extensions plugged in?..>>

...No; I simply plug it in when necessary. The narrow plug on the Ziotek cable is easy to grasp and the 'grip" part of the plug is minimally dimensioned so that it will fit into any recessed USB socket...

Affirmative - that is correct. Page 1.5 in the PDF owners manual says the reset pinhole is in between the usb ports, and below the volume rocker is the mic port.
CF77, if you've tried resetting your slate with a paperclip in the mic pinhole, you may want to see if your mic still works!

I know, I mentioned the correct port to HCL708.

Note- See also Page 6 in the hard copy that ships with your slate.

It's a good thing to have in my mind. You know... my theory is that a bunch of problems that arouse from this tablet (including sdcard-slot not working, or touchscreen clicking by itself) have something to do with using those USB ports!

It was initially to get it started, but once I got it cracked a bit it became easier. I used my Cold Stone Creamery reward card to crack it. :p Worked well and left no scratches.

All in all I'm so relieved that I don't have to send it back. It was hard enough to go 12 hours without it.
