Thanks, I just thought XP 18000 but forgot that there is an XP 8000. The XP 18000 is rated at 19 V, 3.5 amps and 70 WH

It has been noted on multiple threads that the readily available PA1400-14 Samsung power and adapter may fit the Samsung 7 slate.

Also, multiple posting indicate it has been ordered for a trial.

    Does anyone have any results?

This power source with adapter appears out there at multiple sites and would make the purchase easy and quick.

Thanks in advance for followup information.

I've been reading all these threads on S7S (forum lurking) and finally registered today when I found the glass lifting thread :)

...I wasn't talking about you. I was talking about people who ask questions about things that are already answered in the thread... with accompanying pictures, no less...

<<...I found an adapter on ebay that works...>>

    martiin: Thanks for posting this.

Here's another accessory from CyberGuys.com to make the whole thing more compact. It's the NEMA plug and C7 connector without a cord. Plug this into the charger and then plug the charger into the AC outlet! $3.99! :

Steve, didn't you say a few posts back that it needed to be the cloverleaf type connection to fit? I got chastised for it haha!

Ordered the following AC Adapter yesterday:

AC Power Adapter Cord 40W for Samsung AD-4019P,PA-1400-14,100% Compatible | eBay

Paid for the overnight shipping, because I wanted to get it ASAP and stop having to hassle with having to plug/unplug the adapter I have connected to the dock that will be permanently at home.

Based on early testing, it appears to be compatible. The plug fits snugly and appears to be identical to the stock Samsung adapter. The output power is the correct 19V - 2.1A.

There are a few differences though:

    • This is a 3rd party adapter - and not a Samsung OEM adapter
    • The power plug is 2 prong - not 3. Since the power to the slate is DC, this shouldn't be a problem.
    • The body of the adapter is slightly smaller than the stock adapter
    • There's no manufacturer name on it (unless written in Chinese)
    • The model number is 40W-SA06

And it's only $28.50 (before shipping) AND IN STOCK, compared to SamsungParts.com's adapter (BA44-00279A), which isn't in stock, that lists for $41.87.

UPDATE - this adapter may cause interference with touch while the adapter is connected
