You mean the 15" notebook 9 Pen had the 15.6" OLED?

I think so but I'm not sure. Again it was under glass and no touch. The other thing that further confused me was that the case was different color than the rest of the units that people could actually play with. That could be either because it's an engineering sample and/or that it might be a marketing differentiator to make the OLED models with a different color case.

EDIT: Plus given what I know about the various challenges about OLED especially in larger sizes, it's possible they might not think the OLED is "pro" caliber yet.,

And yes the whole launch so far seems very confusing.

Is this the prototype you saw? Doesn't look anything like the notebook 9 pen.

No. I would have remembered something that different. As I said It looked like a note 9 mostly

There is an additional possibility here and one that my company has done on occasion. It's possible that they put the display in an existing chassis, solely for the purpose of showing the display and that it did not represent an actual real product.

I will say, even under glass and at a distance, the display was beautiful

Last year they had 13 and 15 inch Pros, but so far this year only the 13 inch PRO has made an appearance. Maybe they will fill the gap with a 15.6 inch OLED Pro.

Not even a page for the Notebook 9 Pro 2019 or the Notebook 9 Pen 2019 on the Samsung website. What benefit does a company have to keep the details under wraps? Also, why no pre-order option?

I imagine some people skim a review about the new model then go to Samsung's website and naively buy the old model. Samsung's and Intel's naming shell games and the incompetence and collusion of the reviewers confuses them long enough to help Samsung clear out their old stock. Notebookcheck posted a review of last year's model a few days ago that even fooled one of our own members.

I think also that market realities are changing. I wonder how big a pie the U.S. market represents when compared to Asia and other economies. It might just not be that big a deal to Samsung. -Canada was left out of the loop entirely, with our evidently piddly population of 30 million.

The U.S. has 10 x the market. Is 10 x "piddly" big enough to care I wonder?
