    Come to think of it...

Given Wacom's long history of sneaky (and yet transparent) business stylings, I wonder if this Achilles Heel might have been a contractual requirement before 15.6" EMR tech was allowed into circulation.

Whatever the case, we can no doubt expect the Wall Of Contemptuous Silence from both Samsung and Wacom in regard to this.

Manufacturers submit their devices to be certified by Wacom for driver support. The Feel driver hasn't been updated since March, so perhaps it's only a matter of time.

Hopefully I'm over-reacting. Drivers are very often updated within a few short months of a product release. Perhaps all hope is not yet lost.

    But either way...

That didn't stop me from posting a driver hack question over on the Bongofish Forums...

User traffic is always slow over there, but some of the guys who do check in are gentlemen geniuses. I wish I had a test unit to tinker around with...

It is, truly, one of the stupidest decisions ever for pen computing. Why in gods name Samsung would cripple their pen input like this on their high-end laptop device is beyond me.

Fingers crossed. Otherwise, I'm going to install vanilla Windows 10 on there for the sole purpose of getting a pen button to do right click, and it seems somewhat drastic for such a simple feature.

It should, theoretically. Windows ought to detect the digitizer just like any other digitizer. Unless Samsung did some extra shenanigans, but it's still an HID and I really don't see why it shouldn't.

You would definitely lose tilt though.

My usb-c hub comes in tomorrow, so this weekend I'll mess around with it and do it regardless of whether a proper driver is coming. For SCIENCE.

Well hasn't @jbomb done a fresh install on a 1 tb ssd? I'm getting mine next week but the ssd will probably arrive 2 weeks later. Hopefully it's sorted out by then. I'm still crossing my fingers that my device isn't borked in anyway.
