The Gloria looks interesting but another Windows slate with no pen.

Ja, I cannot wait to hear if "Windows 8" for Tablet PC's is 'dumbed down' like Windows Phone 7 was compared to the Windows Mobile it replaced.

I m sorry but the Galaxy tablet is garbage. It lags pretty bad, doesn't have any features over my Samsung Vibrant, and really serves no purpose. I d rather buy an Ipad or just trade my Vibrant in for a Dell Streak and stick with one device. I m not normally one to hate on products, but it is a complete fail.

Will the Gloria have Windows 7 or their Windows 7 Phone OS? Any idea if it will have a USB port?

Windows 7 according to the rumors. The differentiating factor between Windows slates is whether they have an active digitizer or not. Unfortunately so far the almost nonexistent HP Slate is the only one that has it.

The point is, Samsung sold -- in just one month -- almost as many Galaxy Tabs as Apple sold iPads. That is, more than a million! Pen or no Pen, that's a remarkable achievement by Samsung. People are talking about the Tab, the press is talking about the Tab. On the other hand, almost a year later, how many articles about the TM2 (comparatively)? And right now, how many about the Slate 500?

Market share is like a "wife". If you don't take care of it, your neighbor will.

No one is really trying to push Windows 7 slates right now, not even Microsoft. CES 2011 looks to be the start of Microsoft's real push to slates and tablets in the post-iPad world and Windows 8 will be the culmination of this new effort.
