Given how poor Windows notebook sales have been the past couple of quarters, I think you're right on--manufacturers probably have tons of Ivy Bridge inventory sitting around collecting dust. I'm surprised we're not seeing more blow-out sales, particularly here at back-to-school time, but their margins are already pretty thin so maybe they just can't afford to dump the things.

That, or Intel has been slow to push Haswells out the door. Can't discount that possibility, but I've not heard any rumors about shortages.

    So, who the heck knows?

NOBODY said anything about a new model. Those are just dreams from some members here. Maybe there will be one in the future, but it's more likely that a second version of the Ativ Q comes next year with updated processor ram etc.

According to the newest Samsung ftp data sheet the Ativ Q gets 9.5 hours on Mobilemark 2007 test and the battery can be charged full in 2.5 hours

Thanks for the info. That's fantastic news. Not just for the Q but for Haswell in general.

    Hi dk0r,

All online shops have access to this address. To be more specific I have this info sheet from Jacob electronics, which announced the preorder for all ativ devices on 15th August on their blog(and also adding them to their online shop) so the info sheet should be the newest one
