Is it worth $220 to get 1024 Ram in one slot rather than 2x512? I was thinking for future upgrade purposes but is there a performance difference? Thanks for your time.

The only advantage is upgrading later. With today's fast transfer rates, you will see the same performance from 2x512MB DIMM vs. a 1x1024MB DIMM.

no. spend 200 on a seperate gig and upgrade yourself. It is easy and cheaper. believe me, 1.5gb ram is great. I can run a full system scan with norton av, download movies from Red vs Blue, type, listen to music, watch movies, and draw with an art tool all at the same time with no lag. Plus the CPU doesn't even get to 100% all the time. In addition you would only be using 40% of your ram to do all of this.
