To those helping me out on that other thread, thanks a lot -- I ended up going with the R15 and I'm loving it so far.

But it does need more RAM. I was hoping you guys could help me out with a few more questions:

    (1) I think the FSB on the R15 is 400 MHZ, but it only comes with 333 MHZ PC 2700 RAM by default. When I upgrade, can I put 3200 in it, or will that not work?

    (2) If I do the upgrade myself, will that invalidate my warranty with Toshiba?

    (3) Is there much different between generic RAM bought off of Pricewatch and "name brand" stuff?

    1) I would think it would work, but when I look at a configurator like Crucial, they're recommending the 2700. I don't think you'd see any benefit from the faster RAM anyway.

    2) No

    3) Generic, or house brand RAM is not a good idea. I'd stick with Crucial, Kingston, Kingmax, or Corsair.
