Hi, the German site notebookcheck.com has a review of the R1F up. It's quite detailed and includes a number of infos not previously posted here, like heat spread diagrams and a more detailed analysis of the screen and the noise development of the fan than I have seen anywhere else.

    German (original) - http://www.notebookcheck.com/Test-Asus-R1F.2368.0.html

    English (by google) - http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.notebookcheck.com%2FTest-Asus-R1F.2368.0.html&langpair=de%7Cen&hl=de&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools

The gist - in my words:

+ solid build, tapering gives impression of a slimmer design than actually is the case
    + display is great
    + modular bay
+ performance (strangely, as they did not test the available T7200 model, apparently)

    - wobbly screen (although their problem seems to be something not related to the hinge but rather to the latch, something I haven't heard before)
    - noisy DVD drive
    - scratching pen
    - running time on battery

Speaking of noise - they don't mention the headphone jack issue, but they say the computer is rather noisy, certainly after some time of increased CPU usage.

What's your experience with noise levels?
