wait, "desk dock"? Are there multiple docks for this thing? Or are we speaking of the same dock that he had it in for the tests?

Yes, the keyboard is called a dock too, which maybe confusing.

Ok, so to be on the same page ... this is the only "dock" that is meant to give full performance ? -->

If that's the case, we've got to be able to trick it into full speed mode.

Edit: I've sent in a support request regarding this to Fujitsu...not holding my breath on a meaningful response tho.

Doh! So someone needs to test the Q704 in the CRADLE dock to know it's true potential! And then the question is, would anyone ever be able to get the Q704 to attain this maximum performance in the KEYBOARD dock and as a TABLET? I'm guessing Fujitsu will eventually give a BIOS update to get the Q704's tablet performance somewhat closer to the Surface Pro 2's performance, but there may be physical heat-dispersing reasons that only the CRADLE dock (with a bigger fan that pulls the air through the tablet faster?) allows the processor to go safely into full turbo mode....

There are way too many suppositions at this time.

Unless Fujitsu actually clarifies things, or someone actually gets the Desk Dock Cradle to test, we have no way of knowing.

And unlike the Helix that has clear vents on the tablet and extra Fans in the keyboard dock to increase ventilation, the Q704 appears to have no such things.

I guess we will have to wait for more units to be delivered and hopefully be picked by serious review sites.

    Hi,

    I received my i5 Q704 this morning.

Here is the first Geekbench test with the unit unplugged (from power) on "High Performance" in the Fujitsu settings and "Balanced" in the Windows settings:

Here is the test with it plugged (to power) in and Windows on "High Performance" and the Fujitsu setting on "High Performance" as well:

FUJITSU STYLISTIC Q704 - Geekbench Browser

In both, it's attached to the keyboard dock with the built-in battery.

    Hi,

I should have mentioned in the previous post that the temp runs about 66 degrees centigrade. Also, the fan is running all th tim like crazy.
