i contacted intel too. wait eagerly for a response but i dont expect much.
Should we use 3076 version to get it to work properly then?
The more I use the W8 RP the more dissapointed I get due to the graphics display - or lack of it! Even the default Metro Reader won't display now - this really SUCKS!!
And yet other apps like Kindle are fine - what gives?
i dont think so. but just try it ..
got the same stupid answer from intel.
So i guess its best to ask fujitsu.
Maybe Meinolf Althaus, Director Mobile Product Strategy and Business Development of Fujitsu can help us if we are enough persons. Perhaps he can prompt his staff to customize the 3077 driver for windows 8:
2-3 years ago the dissatisfaction group in Facebook for the gma500 (predecessor of the gma600) counted much more than 1000 people and intels lack of reaction then was criticized. But maybe intel has learned something and would react differently if a new group is founded? (i won't found a group, i am not a facebook user). dissatisfaction group gma500: https://www.facebook.com/groups/62711517402/#!/groups/62711517402/
But before asking for good driver for windows 8, i would ask for a acceptable driver for windows 7.
I have sent two emails to Meinolf (my company looks after the private healthcare for the Fujitsu UK division - not that this will do any good but anything is worth a try )
Yes the Reader doesn't work - iCookbook works
Does anyone else have this problem here or not?
Yes i have experienced this also since installing RP - not had time to investigate it as yet
so maybe we really have to contact fujitsu...
Has anyone noticed that fujitsu offered two new BIOS updates? 1.24 in march and 1.25 in April?
Does it help with some problems?
1.24 is the update on the US site. The notes say it is to allow the 'tablet' button (whatever that one is) to be reassigned. Sounds like this is in prep for Win 8.
Interesting. On the german site this isn't mentioned.
Regarding the GMA600.
I've seen that some were trying to contact the Intel support and were getting useless answers. And I posted at the Fujitsu and Intel support boards, but it won't change much...
Windows 7 has come and gone, and still Intel didn't bother writing the drivers that would get at least 50% of the performance out of the GMA600.
We should put some combined pressure on Intel, Fujitsu, Kupa and Microsoft, to get the proper drivers for the GMA600.
Is anyone willing to start some petition and get the attention of the executives at Fujitsu, Kupa and Microsoft, so that they would put the pressure on Intel? Cause unfortunately English is not my first language.
And also Dell.
But what about an open source driver? AFAIK there is one (emgd / iegd) for the GMA 500. Maybe we could get some people together to make it work on windows 8 with the GMA 600? The Chipsets aren't so different, i could work.
yeah, we should try it!
There you go GMA600 - Windows 8 driver.
I wonder what KUPA are going to do with their claim that X11 is Windows 8 ready...
this is unbelievable
intel can't be serious not providing any win8 driver for GMA600 *arghl*
Are any of ya'll Q550 owners experiencing a reboot after waking the tablet from sleep? That's what i'm getting on my CL900 and am just wondering if it's device sepcific.
Since boot is so quick, it's not that bad, just annoying because I have to remember to save my work prior to the tablet going to sleep!
