I think this has relevance, as Apple has control over hardware and software.

IMHO similar to console game development, the games can appear to deliver the same (or better?) game play experience compared to a more powerful PC, due to the ability to tune software and assets specifically to the hardware. Apple has the added advantage to tune to each other, making it very difficult to simply copy.

Your argument could make sense if I hadn't also tried a professional intuos attached to the M400.
And still found it to be night and day just like the Cintiq.

How many pens did you use for your M400? Also, were these M400 new or used? I ask because Toshiba's UD pens had terrible build quality, made of cheap plastic. If you got them used, they pens' load sensor was probably borked.

Thinking hard, I think I'd rather have convertible form factor device. I think I'll bite on Samsung Chormebook Plus when it goes below $300...

Not the Pro model? I am tempted a little by the Pro model, but the storage space is a bit low for my taste(hopefully it's swappable).

My kids have the Chromebook Plus. Nice system, seems to run Android just fine, with a few limitations concerning customization and the S-Pen:

    • The buttons on compatible EMR pens are not recognized in the SCB+/Pro as the built in pen does not have buttons. (Staedtler Noris digital works great, IMHO the best stylus ever made.)
    • Android apps cannot access the micro SD card (this might have changed..?)
    • Android apps cannot access the hardware volume rocker for in-app functions.
BestBuy does sell the Pro model with a 64gb storage option.

This is looking like a very tempting machine and at a rather attractive price. I still remember getting the Toshiba Encore 2 Write with Wacom AES (*shudders at unused AAAA batteries*) for $350, and at 2gbs RAM it was a rather nice machine, but it died recently, so I'm keen to pick this one up, even if it isn't Windows, I'm pretty proficient in the Android usuals like Sketchbook and Medibang, etc.

You should try TV Paint since it recently became free on Android.

I agree. TVPaint Android is amazing! and fully functional like the desktop version!
I am looking forward for Acer to start shipping this tablet! And I hope it would not turn to another Switch 7 tragedy of pending to be released!!!
