, I think you can disable the Bing thingy, just toggle of Windows Cloud Search (that should be enough iirc, alternatively you can also turn it off in OhShutUp10 which I did).
Thanks for the suggestion. I think there are no built-in settings anymore to disable Bing searches in the start menu. I have all cloud related search settings off in Win10 settings. Example, I hit start, type "annoyance", and get this: Spoiler If I accidentally press enter, I am telling the internet / bing that I was searching for annoyance. I hate this with a passion, so perhaps it's worth trying the new Run toy.
Ah okay. Well I can say that the mentioned feature from OhShutUp10 is safe to use (under Cortana and than toggle off Web Search from desktop search disabled, and possibly also display web results in search disabled).
Looks like a pretty complete tool, tons of options (link here). The company looks reliable, I might give it a shot. Always a little hesitant to install "handy tools" from a company I don't know.
, yeah it is good to be conservative in using such tools, but in the case of this tool I have used it since 2015 and on several pc's (many of my friends also use it) and it (mostly) works. The only thing that gets reset / does not seem to work is the option for turning off telemetry completely within Windows 10. Somewhat self explanatory but you should be careful with some settings, like turning off automatic updates or possibly handicap handwriting or such
