Crucial has a 'system scanner' up on their main page. I'm not sure how it works or if will provide a viable solution to the problem, but here's the idea:

Some tx2XXX models seem to be sold under a '2gb RAM' limitation, specifically pre-built models. Users have been asking if this is a physical limitation, or some other kined (or bogus). I don't know if the system scanner will tell the user the exact nature of the problem, but it is said that it will notify the user of limitations to the system as well, so it's worth a shot. I have a tx2000z and already have 4 gigs, but for users wanting to get more RAM on their tablets and have been confronted by this 'limitation', you may want to check this out.
