Good idea to make an e-ink thread! I made an e-ink thread in the general Hardware forum so we can include non-Android devices as well.
You're welcome to close this thread out so we can keep the discussion unified. I suspect that the demand for outdoor viewable tablets is less than overwhelming. For me, it"s a matter of convience for reading out on my deck or by the pool.
For me it's having an excuse for buying yet another device because it fills the a tiny sliver of my use cases: annotating on the beach! Once I get that one I already have my next excuse lined up. I obviously need a lightweight waterproof tablet for annotating in the jacuzzi.
