So quite recently, Panasonic introduced this with little to no fanfare:

Panasonic intros CF-MX3 convertible laptop with Yoga-like design, built-in DVD drive

    ƒŒƒbƒcƒm[ƒgMX iCF-MX3j | ƒpƒ\ƒRƒ“iŒÂlŒü‚¯j | Panasonic (Panasonic's product page)

15 hrs battery life with removable battery, pen support(?), 12.5 inch 1080p display, DVD drive at less than 1.2 kg!?

    It looks compelling, but:

    - It's a Japan only model
    - It'll probably cost a pretty penny (import charges would only add to that)
    - Good luck finding anyone who imports Panasonic's computers into Australia

For a poor student like me, it's definitely out of reach. But hey, one can dream, right?

And an i5 processor too. That battery life is amazing.

It's also hot-swappable because second battery is inside!

You sure it's a Wacom? Google Translate only says "stylus" (スタイラス). The description ("細かな操作や描写ができる、ペン先2mmの専用スタイラスペンを搭載") makes me think this is a super-sensitive capacitive stylus like Nvidia's. Would love more information. By the way, kudos to Panasonic for releasing a product as soon as they announce it, I can already purchase it from Amazon.

Actually, I managed to find a video from Panasonic themselves on YouTube demonstrating the pen - レッツノート MX3シリーズ 便利なペン操作編(37秒) - YouTube

I have to say, judging by the cursor's behavior, it sure doesn't look like Wacom now.

Yeah. First thing I noticed was no hover reticule.
