For me,this replaced a 15.4 laptop, there was no real need for the tablet function. I must say that the touchscreen has some true usefullnes, This would probably not be a good first laptop, but given its overall feature set it is clear why it is number 1. It does everthing reasonably well. The tablet functions and the handy size are true facilitators in making this piece of hardware seem like the next evolutionary step in web 2.0 Hp has a leap up on the competion-they just don't realize it.

It's the most popular, because it targets the avg consumer, with an inexpensive price tag.

However, it will soon be replaced by the tx2000z. Since it's a TRUE tablet.

srry for bringing this old post back, but i'm happy with my tx1308nr.

sure, i had bad times with vista, but after upgrading to XP Tablet on it, it's a decent piece of hardware. the only thing i changed was the OS and a stick of ram so i would have 3 Gigs instead of the default 2.
