    That's one source...it's not fujitsu's official page but it looks a bit promising. Thanks!

    I think there is a constraint by the single channel RAM, but I don't know if it is being throttled back further since the search for "intel HD Graphics 4400 Mobile" on Futuremark's site varies pretty widely but falls down fairly quickly to the range of my own result (the Fire Strike result is what is listed), at around 500.

    • 27755 - Ice Storm 1.2
    • 3732 - Cloud Gate 1.1
    • 472 - Fire Strike 1.1

    THANKYOU!

    Ok so hard to tell without monitoring GPU and CPU cycles while testing but it looks based on those scores that the GPU is throttling a bit in and out of turbo. Did you guys notice the frame rate consistently jump up and down? like 10 seconds of 13 fps and then 5 seconds or so of 28 fps, then repeat? I don't mind a bit of micro throttling to handle temps, but Fujitsu tends to throw away subtlety with it and either turns on turbo or turns it off, rather than micro-managing the temps and speed like the Surface Pro. Still, those scores aren't terrible, so that's good. It could be worse performance like the Acer R700.

    For comparison:
    The T902 (full voltage i7 3520m) gets the following scores with dual channel 16 gigs RAM (which does help some for sure) ... there is some GPU throttling present as well, but CPU remains in turbo the whole time.

    44895 - Ice Storm
    3915 - Cloud Gate
    619 - Firestrike

    But a more accurate comparison is the Haswell ULV Sony Duo 13. It also gets a better more consistent score than the T904, an impressive performance for an integrated 4th gen ULV:

    37733 - Ice Storm
    4456 - Cloud Gate
    660 - Firestrike

    Regarding upgrading the SSD:

    I understand that a clean install of OS and drivers is more hygenic but wouldn't it also work to use something like Acronis and just clone from the factory installed disc thru USB to a new SSD in a temporary enclosure? I've done this perhaps a dozen times in the last 10 years and its always worked great and saved me from having to rebuild systems, aps, and preferences from the ground up. admittedly I haven't gone from HD to SSD with that method.

    I ask because I might prefer to buy the system with a small SSD, use it for a while then upgrade to the 1TB Evo.

    Thanks much for posting your experiences!

    Alternatively, would it work to take the T904 with the small SSD and create a system image to a USB HDD. Then swap SSDs and do a system restore from the USB HDD?

    I did a second run of 3d mark, after updating:

    The frame rate seems to be very constant. But the second run of the benchmark is a bit different:
    Ice Storm 1.2 28629 (first run: 21219 , but with Ice Storm 1.1)
    Cloud Gate 1.1 4170 (first run: 3620) -> increase about 13%
    Fire Strike 1.1 544 (first run: 521) -> increase about 4%

    third run:
    Ice Storm 1.2 31667
    Cloud Gate 1.1 4252
    Fire Strike 1.1 507

    I didn't expect such great differences on the same laptop.
