The R1F came with extra nibs for the pen....so the tips actually wear out? Considering that they are only used on the surface of the tablet, I would not expect much wear.

So for the people that have had a few tablets, how long does a tip last on average? Can you tell if it's wearing by feel alone?

The plastic tips (nibs) do in fact wear, but for the most part it is the finest point/tip that becomes less accurate on the screen. I personally am not that picky about how sharp my pen tips are, but I am sure there are users who prefer a "sharper" point for writing.

You have this metal "ring", there is an insertion or break point; it's like tweezers. You just align the ring to surround the worn-out nib, then pull the nib out. To put in a new one, simply insert the new nib into the pen, and you're good to go. :)

There should be a tool to remove the tip that comes with the tablet pc.

Edit: Apologies SimsHsia. You posted as I was compiling my answer.:)
