Lisa seems to use some type of cover

    Anyone know what it is?

Alternatively, I was thinking of using duct tape though it would make the device hard to sell in the long run after having remove all that duct tape gunk.

Then again, I may just end up using the device for the rest of my life (ipad mini 5) after I get it- I don't know how long it'll last over the decades

I haven't tried any of these, but there are plenty of grippy sleeves available on Amazon, see for example this search.

    That's a...rather optimistic word

Not sure about the model on the particular video, but you can still find many pencil sleeves instead of duct tape for your Apple pencil online. Rubber materials seem nice, I would look for one that would not discolor the pencil though.
