THIS is what i've been waiting for on their laptop line, when the first images of the Surface Duo leaked with the hnige, I was secretly wishing it was comnig to a laptop form factor.

Well besides the failure to add the 360 hinge
the subpar webcam in the laptop line
and the fact that they are not serviceable....
(and no Surface support in the Caribbean)
They are still off the table for me

, and now that HP Spectre x360 with 14 inch 3:2 screen is coming (and a 3:2 Zenbook iirc) I do not think the Surface Laptop is worth the higher price anymore (except for purists).

I agree. Also ran across a reference to an app - HP QuickDrop - in one of those 14" reviews that is on the MS Store and App Store that permits you to drop photos from your iPhone or Android phone to your laptop - it's smooth and fast (uses WiFi) and I finally have a quick transfer rather than emailing photos to myself. THANK YOU HP!

Plus if it's the panel we believe it to be, it will be one of the best displays on the market from anyone period

Do you mind sharing the name of the app? Sounds useful.

So sorry - I'll fix post above. it is HP QuickDrop - sometimes you need to start the laptop version before initiating the transfer from your iPhone...

, maybe bit of a strange question but with HP Quickdrop does the image stay on the local wifi network or will it also go through their servers? I was looking for something that quickly sends sensitive product photos from my phone to my laptop, but do not want to use the cloud.

I don't know - it is so fast it seems like it is a direct connect between the devices but wouldn't know how to confirm that. A reviewer said the opted for WiFi because Bluetooth has a bad habit of dropping connection/being slow.
