The only Lenovo I did that on they sent a whole new keyboard!

But I've the other two devices were Toshiba and both times they just sent the key.

If I have offended you that was not my intention, but I seem to have touched a cord somewhere. Apologize for posting 3 time, I've removed the offending posts. I thought this was a place that both good and bad should be posted and others should be made aware to check out this feature before purchase. I have used those suggestions short of returning or contacting Lenovo support. Those were suggested and I was responding above to it not being a hardware issue. Drivers are not something Lenovo can just ship to me that are special or a fix.

I refer to this as an ELAN touchpad to distinguish it from the other Synaptic touchpad. What would you call it? If those drivers worked with it I would use them but they do not.

No, not offended at all. And quite the contrary I'm sympathetic to your situation since I've been there.

This absolutely should be a place for good and bad.

I was just mentioning that I was trying to engage and help in some way since you had posted the same thing pretty much several times. They didn't seem like additional observations or more questions, etc. Just the same 'Lenovo screwed this up with the ELAN Touchpad'. Which honestly, maybe they did. I'm just not affected by it.

But in my experience when someone is repeating themselves they're looking to be heard and for someone to engage them. So I did.

I apologize if I sounded offended or if I was abrasive and I definitely did not mean for you to feel like you have to tone down your discourse or delete posts. Feel free to speak your mind

    Cheers!

So Lenovo is giving me 3 options.

Ship the whole thing back for them to install a new keyboard, ship a keyboard to me for me to install, or I bring it to a local server center.

Obviously the second option is fastest, but I am wondering how technical would that be? I have built a desktop myself and changed parts frequently, but I have never opened up a laptop, can I have some advice what is the best option for me?

P/S: They wouldn't ship me just the key caps, although if they ship me a keyboard maybe I can just plug that key out and snap into mine lol...

Thanks. I also checked the user manual online and it seems dead easy since it can be done directly from the top. I will opt for this option as it is most convenient...

Aaaaaand it's back. A store in my area has them for store pickup tomorrow. I'm going to head over there tomorrow to see if I can find one with the Samsung screen (which is the one CZM has that doesn't have any apparent burn in). Keeping my fingers crossed...

Edit: The laptop comes up under search and I was able to get to the product page earlier. Now it just comes up under search, but takes you to the page where it says it's unavailable. From the search results, you're still able to look up which stores have it. Might be fixed by time most of you read this.

Yeah, that's the right choice. I've done it several times and it's super easy.

    That's great news!

I'm showing 4 stores within a 100 miles or less of me have it in Stock and ready for pick-up. One store is 20 min from me.

I was starting to feel like I'd be one of only 3 people in the world who had this version. Now lots of people will at least have the chance.
