If you have any specific questions on the ElitePad 1000 or Gen2 Pen, I will try to answer. I am in Shanghai for the next few weeks so my responses will be "time zone" delayed.

Does the Elitepad 1000 have a expansion sleeve included? or do you have to buy seperately?

The sleeve i mean is the Expansion Sleeve which provides USB ports, an HDMI port, and an SD Card slot along with a second battery.

We have SKU configurations where you can purchase the ElitePad and purchase an Expansion Jacket at the same time and it will ship in one single box out of the factory. Please not that this SKU may not be offered in every area, however, you can also purchase the Expansion Jacket separately.

The Docking Station will not be refreshed at this time, however, a USB 3.0 dongle will be offered for sale as an accessory.

so the sleeve with usb and hdmi and sdcard slot does not come with the elitepad 1000 , you have to buy it seperately! ,

crazy really that you have to buy a sleeve - the tablet should have usb and hdmi at least. - realistically you have to buy the sleeve

but i have to say its a really nice tablet , and i want it even if i have to buy a sleeve!

Is the LTE/4G/3G version coming out at the same date? or will that version be some weeks later?

is a march release date for UK too?

there is no UK price yet.....

    Welcome back Rick!
I have to say I am really disappointed with HP
for not having Wacom pen and built - ports to
    negate use of sleeves.
If others can do it why not HP?

Wow, a dongle? That's the strategy to convince executives?

...and to build on your points about using a Wacom pen, our IT department at my company is getting real close to deploying TabletPC's. However, they will not be supplying pens. When I point out that the pen is an integral part of meeting the productivity objectives of using a TabletPC I am told that the logistics of supplying batteries for the pens for 1000+ devices is objectionable and will not be pursued. So, my opinion is either:

    1) supply a technoilogy without a battery powered pen, or
    2) make the pen rechargeable

I cannot argue with them and I never had thought about this angle myself. It turns out that having a battery powered pen is like shooting your best long distance runner iin the foot and wondering why they are not winning the race.... It needs a battery-less pen (or chargeable) and a silo in the device (or in the Productivity Sleeve) so it can be supplied with it.
