Yeah, I only asked because the Samsung ATIV tablets have the same digitizer tech as the Galaxy Notes, so they might be good on that end. I don't plan on doing anything that requires major computing power. Still I don't want anything too archaic.

It is a shame about the lack of 10'' options. The Asus T100 and HP Omni are decent 10'' Baytrail tablets, but neither have a digitizer. Neither have an SSD either which kinda sucks.

Just wanted to chime in here. I'm pretty sure Samsung uses a finely tuned calibration on their devices. On my Note 2, calibration is perfect as long as I'm using the included s-pen. If I switch to my Axiotron or Lifebook pen, I get an offset of 1-2mm. I've only ever used one app that offered in-app digitizer calibration, and if I calibrate it to use my other pens, my s-pen becomes unusable. So for Note Android, perfect calibration depends on using Samsung hardware. And it's not something you can change fiddle with yourself. So it's really the whole phone OS vs full OS thing- great out-of-the-box experience as long as you're willing to play their way and only their way.

Besides, even if the calibration is great everywhere, the edge response is still slower like all Wacom boards.

I agree with you. With my Samsun Ativ 500T I have less offset with the S-pen that with any other compatible pen I have.
I will try the S-pen on my Asus Vitotab 8 when it wil arrive (very soon).

the surface pro does have an active digitizer.
    Wacom penabled (sp?).
Any penabled pen will work, at least on my surface p pro.
I am using an old Cross stylus on it. But an old HP tablet pen will work too.
As I understand it the Asus uses' penabled' tech too.

What I wonder, is the people that have an Asus is the pen callibratable,
to counter the offset, or is it only on the edges the offset occurs?

I said the Surface doesn't have a digitizer not the Surface Pro. lol I know it's easy to get it confused when you talk about those too together.

I'm wonder about the calibration on Asus too. Maybe more people will come and chime in about that. I think we've seen at least one person say that calibrating it all but eliminated the problems on the edge.

Well the tablet runs full 8.1 and am sure that somewhere out there is a program that calibrate the pen and tablet. I am still waiting for this little tablet to be available where I live in southern California.

You should be able to callibrate your pen and touch
under the Control Panel(use the desktop control panel)
    Tablet PC Settings.

    Maybe the Asus is different

The Asus vivotab Note 8 can be calibrated from the control panel.
I have also been using a surface pro stylus and it works great including the eraser on the end of the stylus.

Just today I bought a Wacom Bamboo Stylus Feel. It does not have eraser functions because it has a cap as any other real world pen. It works great on the Note 8. It has two replacement nibs, a soft one and a firm one. Very light and smooth, like a real pen!
