should be, there are already AMD desktop quads at 45W, so a phenom derived dual should be pretty frugal.

the NB will be much the same, but it was never power hungry in the first place given its performance.

AMD has posted a list of tigirs platform cpu's on their website. Dont know how accurate these are given they are all listed as being manufactured on a 65nm process (35W TDP). But taken at face value they seem to have bumped the clock speeds to 2.6GHz from the 2.4GHz for the puma platform cpu's.

Wanna hear something funny? When my tx1000z went awry I called HP for possible repair and while conversing I asked him if a new tablet is coming and he didn't know! I mentioned the TM series and he was clueless. Kinda of leery about HP repair if they don't even keep up to date on their products.

In sadder news at AMDs VISION lunch the HP booth presented the HP TX2 with Vision sticker. The same old chassis from tx1000 days with only vga no hdmi and all the drawbacks we all know.

Let's hope this si not an indication of things to come. But I do have a feeling that TX will be once again just updated internally and TM2 will be anew tablet with a low voltage CPU...

quite the opposite, i see it as a cause for optimism.

to me it looks like the TM2 will be a more radical overhaul, and HP will simply continue to sell the old model until production no longer makes economic sense.

I would be delighted if the TM2 is a smaller chassis Tigris tablet with an 11.6" capacitive screen.

What would a technician/ technical support rep have to do with product development...all they do is follow a script.

When delivering new products to market, these kinds of guys are about the second last to hear about new products. Companies want their time and attention on what's being sold right now. Just before new products hit the market, support and sales are typically the last to get the specific info/training on the new stuff.
