Its statisticly likley. HP runs slighty refined models every few months. consumers are fickle as they want the next best thing. so HP runs short batches and turns out lots of differnt models

    eg
    tx1000 - nov 2007
    tx 2000 - march 2008
    tx 2500 - july 2008
    tx2 - nov 2008

id be very very surprised if HP doesn't release a tx2 varient with the launch of windows 7 as microsoft have really pushed multitouch.

It doesn't have to be a tx2, maybe tx3000 with new platform? Unfortenately Windows 7 launch is not this sommer, it is next year, or not? As I know there no official information from HP about their plans. (Sorry for cracked English)

Making mild updates is a page taken from cell phone manufacturers. Keep it changing even if nothing really changes to make it always seem fresh.

The estimated release date is June 2009. Microsoft recently announced that they are way ahead of schedule on windows 7. Recently a RC was even "leaked" (my guess is this has been a M$ marketing scheme all along "leaking" all these builds to the internet).

Before releasing new TX series model, HP should rather fix the build problem with existing TX1000 series laptops...

Well, unfortunately for owners of the 1000, and I was one of them, they did by releasing the tx2000 series and they fixed it by releasing the 2500 etc.

I wish hardware companies would do an upgrade pricing for loyal customers. Trade in the old and get some money knocked off the new one. But there is no money in it for them so they won't do that.

you can always ebay your current laptop, if its still newish you might get good % back to offset your new purchase.

OR you can always hire purchase your laptop (not sure if theres many services like this for the comsumer market) if you still like it at the end of the agreement just purchase it outright and if you dont trade it back in for the newest model

Does it mean HP will announce a new TX model? Because the Puma platform with Turion CPU is really outdated for 2009.
