Hmm... on the page for the R1F, it says it will ship July 20th...
7.9 lbs?!! I hope that's a typo. If not, my decision on a tablet PC just got a lot easier.
The box on the bottom right of the front page shows an August ship date.
I am a little disapointed. I was hoping it could be like the w7j and offer a low end video card, which is still a lot better than the intel integrated junk. I wonder how much other resellers are going to sell it for without all the bundle stuff.
who would imagine the r1 turned out to be junk
if the r1 turns out like any of the laptops asus makes, it'll probably be pretty decent.
holy crap 7.9 lbs! thats impossible!
i have a 15.4 inch laptop and its like 6 lbs max.
13.3 inch + 7.9 lbs, lol what did they do put lead in it?
if said PC is actually 7.9 lbs then its time to go complain to fujitsu to give me a SXGA screen!
As for weight, there are a few versions.
I read from a taiwan website, it's 4.1lb(1.9kg).
I also remember another website mentioned it's 4.6lb.
Could 7.9lb be the weight of whole package?
So, anyone knows the exact release date?
I sold my T4010 last month. Had thought R1F will be available in July. Feel so lonely when living without a tablet pc.
phew! yeah i bet 7.9 is the weight of the package.
i hope the release date is soon otherwise im going to go crazy!
I'll get 'The Padded Room' ready for you then ....
No way 7.9 lbs is the weight of the entire package. If the laptop is reputed to way 4.x lbs, how can a printer-copier-scanner combo, speaker & subwoofer system, and all the packaging materials weigh less than 3 lbs? Not possible.
For what it's worth, the site seems unreliable at best regarding accurate information; it reports the processor to be 1.83 Ghz, where I read elsewhere that it uses a Yonah processor that ranges from 2 - 2.33Ghz
