New drivers released. My Tab picked them up automatically with the Asus Update software. I restored all power settings to default- let's see how this works. I'll check back later!

Fantastic news! Can you give us the version details of some of the drivers? The Graphics Driver, the Power Engine Plug-In, GNSS, WLAN and Bluetooth after install if you're able?

Won't be home to check these out for another 8 hours or so :(

This is the 2.03 Drivers & BIOS update and it's 45.4 mb in size. Get it now!

I recommend you use LiveUpdate to download and install or just to install:
Make sure LiveUpdate.exe and EeeStorageCommand.exe are not running!
    Place it in "C:\Program Files\ASUS\LiveUpdate\download"
Run LiveUpdate and it should pick it up and start the update.
*some have reported the installer to be working properly without LiveUpdate as well

    Update 4 March 2013
New LiveUpdate version: 2.1.0.8. Get it now!
-looks like a major update, new UI, hopefully fixes connection problems.
-I don't know if the registry keys and the download folder are changed or not.
-no new driver & BIOS updates available so far, though it seems to report new updates whenever you start it.

    Update 26 March 2013
    New live update version 2.1.2.11!
    -can't see any changes

    Troubleshooting:
What LiveUpdate version do you have?
-the latest version 1.19 or 2.1.0.8
-the VivoTab's LiveUpdate app is not available from Asus so far, the same app from other Asus devices might not be compatible
-if you downloaded another version, at least make sure it's X86, the VivoTab does not have an X64 capable CPU

If you can't connect to the live update service try the following
-regular router/Wireless crap (remove passwords, security, proxy, reset to defaults, find another access point)
    -turn your antivirus off
-make sure you have "EeeStorageCommander.exe" in the LiveUpdate folder
-make sure there's a process called something like the above running after you start LiveUpdate, it handles connections and background downloading!
-make sure you have folder called "download" in "C:\Program Files\ASUS\LiveUpdate"
-run LiveUpdate as administrator (caused me trouble but might work for you)
-run UpdateSelf.exe... can't do no harm...

If LiveUpdate refuses to install the package
    -turn your antivirus off
-make sure you have "EeeStorageCommander.exe" in the LiveUpdate folder
-make sure there's a process called something like the above running after you start LiveUpdate, it handles connections and background downloading!
-run LiveUpdate as administrator (caused me trouble but might work for you)
-run UpdateSelf.exe... can't do no harm...
    -install the package manually

If nothing works do a complete refresh

    Driver backups
-driver backups do not work, do not bother with backup tools
-windows will not upgrade from the older drivers (contained in the system recovery image), to the newer ones no matter what backup tool you use
-to update this way you have to remove each driver and point device manager to the newer driver location

Here's how to salvage the drivers yourself:
The driver pack quickly gets deleted, you have to keep an eye on the download and move fast if you want to keep it.
Note that a driver backup is useless, the new drivers won't update unless you force them by removing the old ones!

The live update app starts downloading in "C:\Program Files\ASUS\LiveUpdate\download\802699246.zip".

It might get stuck along the way so what you can do is either reboot or close LiveUpdate.exe and kill EeeStorageCommand.exe and restart the program, it might start slower due to a hash check and continue downloading.

Beware, once the download is completed, extraction (in the same folder) and install begin so you might want to quickly kill:
    LiveUpdate.exe
    EeeStorageCommand.exe

So you can copy the .zip file (other wise it will be locked)

All files get deleted after exaction/updating is complete! Before the reboot. So unless you follow the steps above the update can't be salvaged.

If you wish to re-download or re-apply the update:
-run regedit.exe and do a backup of "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ASUS"
-then remove the whole ASUS folder
-Liveupdate will re-download and re-apply the update if you let it

    User experience Changelog:
-slight improvement in desktop graphics performance (WEI)
-3D apps and games that used to crash or display errors now work properly (tested: adera, xbox profile avatars)
-mousepad does not lock-up after prolonged periods of sleep

    Actual Changelog:

Great news. Hopefully it will fix my "Bluetooth connection drops every minute for a second, when device is charging/plugged in with WLAN enabled". It kills me when trying to type on my bluetooth keyboard.

Acutally the update is currently only available over the asus update service software which is preinstalled at the tf810. Therefore I don't think you can download it now. Maybe a little later or somebody is able to extract it and put it on dropbox.

I failed in copying the update files, but I posted a method above. Basically the update service quickly deletes everything before you can get your hands on them so you have to be quick.

What timing from Asus! I just got this from support today:

The drivers in the link don't seem as new as those from LiveUpdate (the graphics driver is .1099) but it gives you a great idea of what's been updated.

    Chipset,
    Touchpad
    BIOS
    WLAN
    GNSS
    NFC
    Bluetooth
    Digitiser
    'Sensor' - Which one?

Very pleased indeed. Nice to have a graphics driver that displays things correctly but doesn't make the screen flicker! Maybe the Inkers among us can give the new digitiser drivers ago and test pressure sensitivity?

Well... after my hour commute home she woke from sleep like a champ. Will post tomorrow how OneNote inking is after a meeting or two using it. Could it be possible that will really become the computer I hoped it would be?

EEE LiveUpdate shows the update available. However, when I click on Install Items, the first line stays stuck at "Overall status 0.0%." Ideas? Is this normal?

Yep, was like that for me. Just let it do its thing and it'll go to 33% then 66% then 100%. Takes around 10mins for each step. Just be patient :)

So excited for this! I was using my tablet just last night and muttering to myself about the touchpad and sleep issues. Why did I leave it at home today?!?

I actually installed the updates and the first impressions are pretty good. I will let the tf810 in sleep mode during night and I will see tomorrow if my mouse pad issue is still alive. I will have a look at the other issue (with the mouse pad not going in sleep mode when tablet is in dock and close) is happening also. This issue is very tricky because the tablet wakes up when the tablet is carried in a bag.

I'm having some serious Wi-Fi issues with the new drivers. Struggling to pull more than 3Mbps. Anybody else seeing this?

EDIT: Never mind. Seemed to be a range thing. Moved closer to my router and back pulling my full 40Mbps internet. Never usually had a problem with where I was though. Will keep an eye on it...

Sleep seems to be working properly, as well as the touchpad waking up. The tablet is also not waking up when I close the lid and move around or squeeze it near the touchpad. For all of our complaining about Asus not releasing drivers. at least the ones they put out seem to fix the issues. If this thing performs the way it has today over time, I say huge success.
