Sorry folks, but this is about as stupid a video as any of the "Will it blend?" videos. What exactly did he prove - especially carving up the pencil and forceably bending the tablet?

This is just destruction porn, as are all of his videos of this theme....they don't reasonably put the devices under conditions they would actually be subjected to in NORMAL use.

Don't quite fully understand people's penchant for doing stuff like this on gadgets--especially when maybe 99.9% of people will actually experience having their gadgets on that kind of situation.

I have to say, I am rather shocked at how...forthright? Apple has been about all this:

    (PocketLint)
"Apple asserted some models have been shipping out with a "very slight bend in the aluminum chassis," which is a "side effect of the manufacturing process". More specifically, a "cooling process involving the iPad Pro’s metal and plastic components during manufacturing". As a result, Apple does not consider the bend a defect. The issue also shouldn't worsen or affect the iPad Pro's performance "in any practical way"."

They admit the problem and detail the exact cause.

No corporate vague-speak, no "you're holding it wrong", no "well other companies have it too"...just a plain, F-you.

    Refreshing.

Guess what? This is my new 12.9" iPad Pro bought this past Tuesday night: it's Saturday afternoon and even if I barely used it and only with its cover, it is already like this.

Wel fuuuuu…. Crackergate is real! My commiserations. Are you exchanging it? The Backup/restore process is very solid these days, so exchanging could be relatively painless.

I’ll probably just keep it like this and see how it evolves if Apple doesn’t consider it a defect.
At worst it might accidentally make acquaintance with the floor in a few months if they don’t see this bending a problem.
