I somehow managed to miss this was originally a conversation from 2014... lol
Light water colour skies and pastel pinks and other subtle, gentle colours are really hard to capture in the digital realm. -Partly because scanners have a hard time seeing and differentiating between subtle shade differeneces, but also simply because there aren't enough colours available in some of the lesser digital spectrums to even represent them all, let alone display or reproduce them.
Some of my favorite paintings I don't bother posting on line simply because the scans have been so horrid.
It's one of the reasons I'm excited about digital water colour. -Though there's something nice about creating artwork which can only look good in the original.
Probably something of a technique to develop for those artists who don't want to see their work freely duplicated or distributed across the internet.
Had never thought of that before.
