It worked perfectly from the time I purchased it and even after the swap of the ssd. I made sure that it was seated correctly when I put it back together, It's toast.

Well, the saga continues. My daughter missed the delivery of the return box from fedex, so instead of waiting until today for them to attempt another delivery, I decided to drive the 15 miles and pick it up myself. So when the fedex counter man went and brought the box out, it was another huge box for a laptop. To say that I was disappointed is an understatement. I explained to the fedex guy the situation and he opened the box and there was a padded area for the slate. I had it with me so I put it in, he sealed it up and off it went. Now the real waiting game begins.

You'll have it back by the middle of next week. I'm interested to know the cost of the switch.

they will replace the whole surround, the switch is not replaceable on its own.

I guess that if it breaks, by removing the surround there is a way to "glue "it back together, but that is an experiment that needs to be done...

They charged $89.00 just to diagnose the problem. What's to diagnose? The switch is broke. Stevie Wonder could "see" that. At least the 107.00 included the 89.00.
