I've estimate the power usage of the EP121 to be approximately the following:

Base usage around 7W (screen off)

+ 3W to 4W for low to high brightness screen
+ 0 to .2W for idle bluetooth and WIFI
+ 2W to 3W for watching an AVI movie stored on SD
or 4W to 5W for watching a Netflix movie via WIFI
+ 7W to 18W for CPU intensive tasks ranging from compiling in Visual Studio to running Prime95

    For example:

idle computer with BT and WIFI on is around 10W.
watching AVI movie is around 12.5W
    watching Netflix is around 14.5W
    compiling in Visual Studio 19W
    running Prime95 29W

I found that enabling Bluetooth really didn't affect power. Neither did disabling the webcam driver.

    Anyone else experience anything different?

FYI: this was tested using Battery Bar Pro.

Thanks for putting that together. I've cut down on services, disabling my camera, etc to glean the magical extra minutes. Doing all that might have helped me get like 5 minutes more... basically it wasn't enough that i noticed. Might as well just enjoy the full slate experience for 3 hours rather then suffer through 3.5.

I was also surprised that the max brightness is only 1W (less than 10%)more than the minimum brightness. I also found less than .2W difference in keeping an SD memory card in the system vs taking it out. An external battery pack is really the only solution to getting better battery life :)
