Yes, on install it's saving original binary, replacing it by script, calling mpd + QtMPC and swithing back to native on uninstall.

Launcher entry "Music" will call QtMPC too.

UPD. I've updated a flaw concerned with "localhost" default entry in QtMPC property window. Now it should work "from the box". Also I've fixed 5 incorrect actions call.

Great! Still, in sleep mode, it stops :-(

Downloaded this yesterday. Works great. Definately better than the old player.
I had no trouble adding MP3 files; I just put them on an SD card in a folder marked Music and the app found them automatically. Great.

I don't use my Eeenote to listen to music; my Creative Zen is far better for that, but I do use it to listen to foreign languages. I'm off to Hungary next week and now I can listen to Hungarian pronunciation files while reading a pdf script of the file. Great addition to the Enote.
    Thanks.

I am now using the player regularly and it works pretty well. It would be nice if it was indeed possible to get it to work in sleeping mode.
If that isn't possible I like to suggest an alternative. After starting the music player, change auto sleep mode to never and change it back again after you exit the music player.

If I knew how to do it:)

Sadly, I know that it's possible - mpd from optware have a lot of dependencies, segfaults on database update, but plays in sleep mode (screen turns off, music doesn't stops).

How they did it - is a question.

    I have QTMPC 0.9 installed.
It plays with the screen turned off.

    RU firmware 139...

I have same firmware and it's goes to sleep soon after screen off :)
May be it's concerned with settings .. but in my case all set to default, i think.

Or, is it possible, that you have runned some program which doesn't allow to turn device off .. ?

Do you think enote have the hardware to play small videos ? I download a lot of vodcasts and it's maybe the last thing lacking for enote. I think it's possible porting Phonon, but not sure if it's worth.
I just have no abilities in porting with other architectures.
