Version 0.9 of QtMPC music player is added to pb's feed. It should replace native music player (and restore it if uninstalled). For some unknown reasons QtPacker didn't recognize "Depends" keyword into package specification, so install libmad manually, before using QtMPC. libmad package can be found in same repository.

In this version mpd daemon and his frontend, QtMPC starts and stops together, by script /usr/local/eTablet/bin/music/music

Audiofiles is expected in folder /eTablet/music, which now is symlink to /mnt/extsdcard/music

On first startup mpd will build database, so be patient.

    Current sensor key bindings:
    1) Quit
    2 - 5) None
    Left arrow) Prev track
    Home) Minimize app
    Right arrow) Next track

Hope you will find it useful :)

What to do to get rid of the QtMPC configuration screen? Or what should I enter for settings like MPD host, port, password?
I don 't want to stream, I just like to play music from my sd-card.

Cancel kills the program and the only thing I can do is OK or apply. Both are not accepted and every time the QtMPC screen pops up.

BTW. will it be possible with this program to play music while taking notes?

Looks like you skipped libmad while installing player. Check for it in QtPacker installed applications list. May be it worth to make cumulative package, to avoid such problems.

What related to taking notes - sure, you can do anything while listening music, run it and press "home" button to minimize.

I have installed it. It is in my installed packages. I did install it before installing QtMPC. Let me try to re-install it..

Can you run it in console?

    /usr/local/eTablet/bin/music/music

is any error concerned with mpd here?

    /usr/local/eTablet/bin/music/music/: 3: mpd_pid: not found
/opt/bin/mdp: error while leading shared libraries: libmad.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

It can't find libmad, as I feared .. strange, in my case /opt/lib is in LD_LIBRARY_PATH

    plz, do this:

    mount -o remount,rw /dev/mss/blk0p5 /usr

    cp /opt/lib/libmad* /usr/local/lib

after this player should work and libmad package can be safely removed

I think I typed in everything correctly, but there doesn 't seem to be any libmad files in /opt/lib so there is nothing to copy.

Well, in this case we can do this:

    1) go to QtPacker
    2) Uninstall both QtMPC and libmad
    3) Press "Update" btn below
    4) Install QtMPC only (I've repacked it and added required libs into package)
