Anyone know what the most recent (stable) graphic card driver for the tx1000 series is?
I'm having a resurgence of problems getting my notebook to go into sleep mode when I press the sleep button (it doesn't hibernate at all anymore, so I've given up on that), and I think the graphics driver is the culprit. My driver is dated 2/27/2007 and is version 7.15.10.9815.

For the hibernate thing, try deleting the hibernate file:

    Disable hibernate
    goto c:\
set folder options to show hidden files and folders
    hiberfil.sys should be on c:\
    delete it
    enable hibernate

try that and hibernate *might* work. I've had to do that from time to time when hibernate failed on me.

Right now I'm using an unofficial driver from http://www.tweakforce.com/

I tried the driver at hp.com, its the same one. No idea why they say its 5/2007.

Hibernate works just as often (or not) as sleep, I went to the command prompt and did "powercfg -h on" to make sure.

    I let the computer sit while not sleeping/hibernating, and after about 10 minutes I got a bluescreen;

    DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.3
    Locale ID: 1033

    Additional information about the problem:
    BCCode: 9f
    BCP1: 00000003
    BCP2: 83992B98
    BCP3: 855793D0
    BCP4: 83FF8B20
    OS Version: 6_0_6000
    Service Pack: 0_0
    Product: 768_1

The closest I got to a solution was a very vague mention on microsoft.com.
So, evidently, I have to wait until Vista SP1 to maybe get it resolved, unless I want to gamble with a "special" request-only hotfix. meh.

The irritating thing is that sometimes sleep and hibernate works. It seems to fail if the notebook has been on and in use for a while...so if I want updates to work properly I have to do a fresh reboot so it goes through the restart cycle correctly.
