As we all know, Dell has been working on their very own Tablet PC. Rumors have been flying around this for quite some time now. It's almost as bad as when Apple introduced the iPhone. According to ZDNet Asia, Dell's first Tablet PC design will be called the Latitude XT.

"We wanted to wait for Vista and the Santa Rosa [Centrino Pro] ultra-low voltage platform," he added, suggesting that the new platform's enhanced power management made it possible to "have enough brightness at the LCD level" to make the tablet usable outdoors without overly compromising battery life."

Hmm....I would never have thought outdoor screen brightness was Dell's reason to hold back a product. Something fishy there. Maybe they're gonna release a UMPC to replace their Axim PDA line.

They're basically making excuses, most that insult you intelligence, like most big name companies.

Having met, sat and liaised with these board type/PR/Marketing/ type folk I can understand what you are saying.

Normally it's a game of tactics and game playing..... which is what is quite evident here. :)

It looks like an ideal tablet, except the ultra low volt processor just doesnt do it for me. I was hoping for more new tablet models with santa rosa 2ghz and up processor options.
