That sounds a lot like "corporate speak" for 'don't just shred them and lose everything, sell them as test units and recoup the loss...'

    Remember the Touchpad....

I'd be fine with that, as device next to my Asus, for the right price...

That doesn't look like a reliable source as it's already been said by Lenovo that they aren't pulling out of the US completely, they've just stopped selling the Mix 2 as it's sold out and the ThinkPad Tablet 8 is discontinued. They state that new 8" devices are coming.

There was a small mention of the Surface Mini in Microsoft's earning report for the April-June quarter. Right after bringing up the launch of the Surface Pro 3, there's this:

"Under development?" What a crock - they were originally going to release the Mini with the Surface Pro 2 launch window. EVERYONE in the tablet universe is already on generation 2-3 of their 7"-8" products, and they aren't relying on two year old screen and processor technology.

Forget about it Microsoft - you've missed another potential window of opportunity - move on to a Surface Phone successor to the Lumia 1020 (5", 64GB, 41mpxl).
