Microsoft's new design language is based on the Swiss Style of minimalism (Also known as International Style) not to be confused by the Bauhaus inspired Metro/Modern style of minimalism...

It's a bit much.. :) I'm just glad that they're not making all icons gray, like Apple was doing in iTunes, and like I think MS did in Visual Studio. Those toolbars do look cluttered though.. Maybe if we could selectively hide text labels for obvious buttons (can we?)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and my choice of avatar's should adequately explain mine...I know skewmorphism is dead (Apple said so)...

To give Microsoft some credit, this year's Surface is a lot cheaper than last year's. The top line (1TB, $2199) is $500 cheaper than what it used to be on SP4/SP5 ($2699). The 512GB ($1899) is $300 cheaper. It's not that bad for a gimped i7 considering the $$ you saved on this gen. Hopefully they'll keep the same pricing for their future upgrades.

I can’t say I dislike it haha. I do find the archaic 3.5 inch floppy icon odd in this day and age. I’m old enough to remember using them, but what do young people make of such an icon I wonder?

    Stupidity excuse sound to me.
Sorry Panos Panay but I would expect much better explanation if there is of course(to me and many others no)

Since other OEM can give both USB A port +Thunderbolt(even 2) so you should had done the same.

That's WORSE than a weak excuse; it is no excuse at all. They could have pulled the mini Displayport and no one would have even known it was gone. They did that for the Surface Book 2, and didn't even offer USB-A on the Surface Go. As a long time Surface user, it has been NOTHING but downhill of late (7th gen processor in the Surface Studio - REALLY). I'm with you - SAMSUNG - release the Galaxy Book 2 and take my money...
