This picture just about sums it all...thanks to engadget.com:
@dstrauss Was literally about to post that picture. Seriously....even with low expectations I feel stupid waiting for this event.
@Bronsky Looks like you'll be hanging onto your Go.
WHAT? WHAT? Hey, you forgot the GO LTE! Hey! No really, I mean it. WTH?
I guess they saved me a trip to Delaware.
Damn good thing Apple refuses to give iOS a proper file system and mouse support...
OH, wait, last week MS said they are only developing mobile office for iOS and Android...hmmmmmmm
Sorry SOB's left @Bronsky hanging...can't wait to see that the Surface Studio 2 is still using 7th gen processor and GTX 1060 "super GPU"...
That HP Elite X2 1013 is looking pretty good right now...
The Studio 2 has a USB-c port on the back, better make it thunderbolt 3. They also change the design of the power cable for what?
Next (last) gen Pascal graphics, which means 10xx GTX instead of 20xx RTX. If it uses a 7th gen CPU, what makes it the fastest Surface ever (compared to 8th gen used in SP6 and SB2)? Does not make much sense. You can replace the hybrid drive with SSD anyway on the old gen. The design looks exactly the same and I suspect it'll suffer the same touchscreen issue that I have experienced. Pretty disappointing. Should call it an 'upgrade' with last gen spec.
Can someone explain what the Microsoft Surface All Access program is? I could only find info about it on Engadget. Does this mean we can pay $25/month to eventually pay off and own a Surface Studio 2?? Cuz that’s sounds amazing.
Side note... why wasnt the Surface Studio 2 also black??
Am I the only one who thought of this while watching the live blog...
Good thing it WASN'T live broadcast..
Having followed this announcement through various live blogs, the question arises: Why was it not streamed?
Does Azure not have the bandwidth in New York? (Doubtful)
Does Microsoft not know how?
Couldn't they just have shot it with a camera and Skype?
Any word if there will still be Iris Pro Graphics in the i7 model? If not, the i7 model just became utterly forgettable for the slight performance bump you get from the CPU side. EDIT: No Iris. Only vanilla Intel UHD Graphics, which is just a new, fancy name for the same slow HD Graphics. Oh well. My recommendation now is to avoid the forgettable i7.
It turns out they put in a GTX 1070 actually. That is quite amazing—4K gaming ahoy! That 7th Gen CPU was a massive misstep, though, especially when 6- and 8-core processors now are mainstream and this is a premium device for crying out loud.
