As in light, airy, and little substance - kind of like an Apple trade-in...

They've had the trade it program for a while. All things considered they give you a good deal. It was almost 2 years ago I traded in my Pro 3 in for the i5/128GB/Keyboard included Pro 5, which retailed for $799, and the trade was about $200 ish.....but that was in person at the Microsoft store....and they just applied the trade in value directly to the purchase.

My Pro 5 according this website has a similar $200-ish trade in value, the similarly configured i5/8GB/256GB Pro 6 gets $287.

And actually the trade in value for the 4GB/64GB Surface Go 1 gets you back $180, which is pretty good considering it only costed $399. However the trade in value seems based heavily on what device you are upgrading to. If I trade in my Go 1 for a Go 2, they only give it a value of $130.

I hope the Microsoft Store itself holds similar trade in values when they reopen the physical stores, I might very well Trade in Both my Pro 5 and Go 1 towards a Pro 7.

The 128GB/4GB Wifi Surface 3....trading in the power adapter gets you $150 towards a Pro 7....or $100 towards a Go 2.

Honestly that is not that bad.

I was actually pleasantly surprised when I went through the website. I think the deal is that Microsoft has a floor of $100 at the moment. Looks like my S3 will be going back.
