I hope you're correct - as opposed to dishing out snark.

A combination of hope and snark I suppose.

Really hope this brings substantial updates, and not just a boring hardware refresh. Given the timing with Windows 11, seemingly beating Apple's Macbook design refreshes, Microsoft needs to pull off a A game show.

And if by some miracle a Pro X styled Pro 8 hits, I hope that rumored Go3 will get a style update as well to match it.

As I mentioned elsewhere, I think that this event will be indicative of whether the Surface line will continue to innovate in any significant way as opposed to being limited to eternal minor refreshes. Panos' span of control covers the whole waterfront, now. An inability to deliver some fresh, new designs will be disappointing, indeed...

    Apologies to Billy in advance:

Panos: (picking up a Neo from the dumpster) Alas, poor Neo! I knew him, Satya, a fellow of infinite promise, of most excellent design. He hath borne me on his screen a thousand times, and now, how abhorred in my imagination it is! My stomach rises at it. Here hung those screens that I have touched I know not how oft. —Where be your processor now? Your OS? Your apps? Your flashes of brilliance that were wont to set the industry on a roar? Not one now to mock your own demise? Are you saddened by that? Now get you to my designer's chamber and tell them, let them innovate as they wont, alas to this end they will come.

@Bishop and @Bronsky - Hey old buddies, a lot of chatter that Duo 2 may get it own event because there is "one more secret that has not yet leaked" per the giddy fellows at WindowsCentral - and rumors are going nuts with this two year old MS patent:

Rubino & Bowden go live at 2:30 EDT...now more fuel for the faithful...in Michael Fischer's (Mr.Mobile) video I linked in the Fold3 thread about his day in the life of Fold 3, he met with Rubino for a secret briefing (he even blurred out "can't show you this yet") in NY...if anyone would get pre-briefing from MS, these two would be near the top of the list...but the NDA he talks about is a joke because its with Sterling Cooper & Partners - from MadMen...

    Just sayin'
