Microsoft Might Offer Surface Pro 4 With a 13- or 14-Inch Display

    Yea that too. Not to mention the SP3 can't sustain its higher clock rates for very long unlike the MBP which has more adequate cooling (I assume).

    Still, even for students, the majority of them don't really need powerful computers. Even within engineering and science fields, not all specializations require a lot of heavy duty modeling/simulation, and students outside those technical fields need that processing power even less. Having said that, I still think it is enough people that they should have a product that caters to them. I don't think it would sell as well as the lighter options (just like how the MBA outsells the MBP), but just having that in their arsenal would help MS's device maker image (IMHO).

    Yep - coverage. But not just coverage for it's own sake (like how I feel Samsung does it)but because there's a market to be catered to.
