Windows Marketing chief Tony Prophet has revealed that Microsoft is prepping six versions of Windows 10: Home, Mobile, Pro, Enterprise, Education and Mobile Enterprise*. The Pro version will be for full-size tablets and 2-in-1s, while the Mobile version will be for phones and small tablets.

Pricing for the various versions wasn't announced, but the company has said several times:

We are offering the full versions of Windows 10 Home, Windows 10 Mobile and Windows 10 Pro as a free and easy upgrade for qualifying Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 devices that upgrade in the first year after launch.

Prophet promises that Windows 10 is on schedule to be released this summer. Leaked information indicates that the release will be in July.

*This list doesn't include the versions that will be embedded into devices like the Xbox One, Microsoft HoloLens, and Surface Hub.

So they are going back to the 'Home' designation ...that's good. Life was a lot simpler when we had "XP Home" and "XP Pro".
