I do want to apologize to my Mac using friends - Apple had done you a very good turn and brought back features - a major mea culpa for them. My rant is that these are Autobahn dragsters in a two lane county road environment for 90% of users.

Maybe Face ID 3 in 2024?

But they're Autobahn dragsters with (supposedly) exceptional gas mileage, that's gotta be worth something.

Right - for us average folks who merely do productivity app, email, and web surfing, we'll get 36 hours of battery life...

I wish. I had an M1 Macbook Air, and got about 8 hours. Not bad, but not what was advertised either.

Really? Now that's surprising! Was that for particularly heavy workloads?

All in all, if the M1 MB Air supported two monitors natively, it would still be my choice over the new MBP...

Not really. Email, calendar, blogging, Scrivener, some Affinity Photo, RSS Reader, and Firefox. Stuff like that. It could have just been my machine, but I think that something about my workflow probably engaged the serious 4 cores instead of the power-sipping 4 cores. That was my theory. TBH, anything over 6 hours works fine for me, so I really didn't pay it much mind after buying a USB-C charger for my office. At first I thought I wouldn't need it.

That's definitely the price per performance for what almost everyone in the known universe needs. Anything else is overkill. But don't get me started on Mac OS. Been going downhill for a while...definitely the iOSification is in full swing.

Ever notice how close that term is to "ossification"?
