Photoshop, ArtRage, Manga Studio, AutoCad, would benefit from discrete gpu and pen.

An embedded graphics chip like IntelHD is intended to extend battery life and they do that very well. Lot's of 3D based software rely on OpenGL. And if OpenGL is needed, IntelHD is neither fast nor stable so it is not usable for those applications. Wikipedia has a good list of OpenGL apps.

I use Rhino and Solidworks for 3D CAD design and embedded just wont work. Though I've heard that some AMD processors with a Radeon HD graphics chip will work. They'd be slow, but at least stable.

For me working with a stylus on 3D design is not only a joy, but at the level of intensity that I interact and build up my models, using other interface devices (mouse, touchpad) is a recipe for carpal tunnel. Plus interacting directly on screen is so nice compared to an external digitizer. I imagine anyone who does graphically intensive work feels similar once they've tried it.

Dan does say that it has corrosion problems like the original N-Trigs. X5 Atom should be plenty of power and 4GB RAM is nice to see. HP will sell a bunch of these. To be honest, if it had a Wacom pen in a silo I would be tempted to buy one.

Any idea if this pen would work with a HP Pavilion X2 10?

Could I suggest adding what type of graphics card each computer has?

Most if not all are running the standard intel gpu, which kind of changes based on cpu class, i.e. core m vs u series cpu.
