Ditto. The Onyx Nova3 I got recently has two sliders, for blue-white-ish and orange-ish colors, which can each be toggled off. Holding down the home button also turns the front light on or off. My Kindle Paperwhite goes from bright to off... I think it’s universal.

From what I’ve seen of the current and upcoming color 7.8” e-ink devices, you really, really need to want color desperately to pay the extra for it. The prices are gasp-inducing even for those of us used to e-ink prices.

Give it a couple of years to settle down to normally absurd e-ink device prices. :newpalm:

Surprisingly, it looks like the pace of color e-ink is increasing. Goodereader did a nice retrospective over the past decade:

2020 alone saw the release of 6 color e-ink devices, believe it or not (timeline @22:06). Now with the DPT-CP1, we finally have an active digitizer to go along with it (and Wacom EMR no less).

So get your wallets ready early, things are looking bright (and colourful). :)

Clearly a color e-ink device announcement, but everyone knew that was coming. Question is, which device(s) get color? Their 6” Poke reader already got it, color 7.8” screens have been out for a while, so a Nova Color is a good bet. The first color 10.3” e-ink device, the Bigme B1 Pro, came out in December (for about $1000 ), so Air or Note Color versions are certainly possible. We’ll find out this Saturday.

This is what they showed in the 6-second teaser, so it's definitely not the Air. Based on the bezels I agree that it's most likely the 7.8" Nova.
