Another *facepalm* moment, courtesy of Lenovo...

The Lenovo Shop web pages for the Yoga Book don't spell out what the keyboard layout will be in the specific country where it is being sold.

Here in the Netherlands, there is a Dutch keyboard layout, but hardly anybody uses it - 99.9% of people just go with the US International layout keyboards.

I've just had an online chat with a Lenovo rep, and she confirmed my worst fears:

05:47:34 [Sarah B.] Hello. My name is Sarah B.. How may I assist you?
05:48:28 [Visitor] What is the keyboard layout of the Yoga Book for Windows in the Dutch market? Is it US International or the Dutch keyboard layout?
05:49:25 [Sarah B.] It will be Dutch layout
05:50:28 [Visitor] Ah - that's a pity. 99.9% of the keyboards used in the Netherlands are US International . The Dutch Keyboard layout is very rarely used. I guess Lenovo won't be selling many Yoga Books here then.
05:50:50 [Sarah B.] Ok, I will pass that on.
05:51:29 [Visitor] Thanks. I won't be buying a Yoga Book if it has a Dutch layout. Thanks for letting me know.

Does Lenovo usually sell their laptops with US-International layout in the Netherlands? I doubt they would deviate from their "usually provided" keyboards.
Could very well be that CS rep just made that claim based on the fact that different layouts would be provided for the respective regions.

    <<...It will be Dutch layout...>>

...Given how poorly sales reps are informed, why do you believe her? Wouldn't it make sense that the keyboard will be US International... just like 99.9% of all sales...???

Yes, it wouldn't surprise me if she mis-stated the facts. Either way, it's still a Facepalm for Lenovo - either they've totally misjudged the Dutch market, or (as usual) their sales reps are totally misinformed...

Here in the Netherlands both models (Android and Windows) are available for pre-order with a (more than) 4 weeks waiting time.

It has a cell modem. Will it run over the usual providers in the USA?

If the screen had the ability to accept the emr pen then it would be a totally different story, but as a scientific note taker this device falls massively short.

Also Lenovo has a love affair with bezels.

That's, I think, because the device is using an EMR digitizer (which has dead space around the active area), and the designers felt that if the screen was larger than the digitizer area, it would be confusing to users...
