Lenovo Helix 3698-6XG (1st gen.) SIM-card compatibility?

Hello.
I recently bought a Lenovo Helix 3698-6XG for studying, but I seem to have a question about the SIM-card function. My tablet contain the pocket to insert a SIM-card into, but the specs does not mention anything about the function, so I wonder if my tablet actually can use a SIM-card, or if the pocket simply just is there for no use. The guide that followed with my tablet mentions the location of the SIM-card pocket, but the official guide from Lenovo's website informs that my tablet does not support SIM-cards.
So my question is, does my tablet support SIM-cards, or does it not? And if not, why is the pocket there?
