This is my first time using a tablet pc or vista. I have a few questions regarding both.

    1. How do I get rid of netzero and aol and other crap from the welcome center?

    2. If I do a clean install of vista, will I need any drivers for fingerprint reader or the wacom or anything else?

    3. What are the first things I should do after getting my tablet?

to get rid of things like that, right click them on your desktop and click delete, and it should promt you to go to add or remove hardware.

It should also be in control panel.

If you do the clean install just do windows update, and look on gateway and install all the drivers, then you wont have ANY crap left on it...

    2) you should do a system restore disk. i forgot exactly how, but your manual should have it or search in this forum for it. You will then make a copy of the drivers to a cd/dvd

If you go to the "Gateway Recovery Center" on the start menu, all programs, it has an item for creating the driver disk and backups.

That is normal. Especially until the nib gets "broken in". It seems to smooth over time.
